Botox is used in the treatment and prevention of lines and wrinkles on the face, especially around the eyes and forehead. It helps with crow's feet, frown lines, neck creases and is also used for brow lifts. Made from purified forms of Botulinum toxin proteins, the injection temporarily paralyzes the specifically targeted muscles in the face in order to prevent movement and facial expressions that would otherwise cause lines and wrinkles to intensify. With these muscles paralyzed, the creases and wrinkles can soften or disappear over time. When injected on the palms or under the arms, Botox can also stop sweating (excessive perspiration and clammy hands).
